TODAY'S LOOK - 5.25.2013

top: American Apparel | leggings: Black Milk | boots: Underground London

Well, it has been quite some time since I've done an outfit post! The rain caused it to finally cool off a bit, which made it possible to wear more than just a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, a rarity in the humid Midwest summers. My friend Emma took this photo of me on Saturday while we were visiting some of the contemporary art museums in St. Louis. The quality of this isn't so great since I robbed it from Instagram, but I really love the location. The architecture of both museums was crisp and minimalistic, which is right up my alley! I took a handful of photos while we were there but none of the art since that's prohibited. One museum is home to Richard Serra's Joe, a site specific spiral sculpture that twists and turns and is large enough that you're able to walk through it like a labyrinth. Joe is a permanent piece at the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts so visitors are allowed to photograph it. Expect photos of that soon and also some architectural shots!

If you're at all curious about the art on display, which includes works from Donald Judd, Lari Pittman, Mika Taanila, and Kerry James Marshall, check out the exhibitions pages at camstl.org and pulitzerarts.org.

TODAY'S LOOK - 7.4.2012

Obligatory 4th of July outfit! Personally, I just love this. I always had thought that blazer was navy but I looked at the threading and buttons and it turns out it's a light black. That means I can wear it more often now! I'd write more but I gotta get to my celebration activities :0) hope everyone has a fun day!

TODAY'S LOOK - 4.13.12

Meh, I really started to remember why I stopped posting on lookbook years back. Everyone on the website is so beautiful and it just makes me feel like such a fat, ugly turd. I hate feeling like this but sometimes it's really hard not to compare myself to others and start feeling down about my appearance.

TODAY'S LOOK - 3.28.12

I'm back on lookbook! I decided that after not using the sight for a few years, that's it time for me to start being active on it. I like being able to document my outfits and seeing how my style evolves over time. Also, I feel that these photos will be evidence for the changes in my body. I've lost thirty pounds since I was at my highest weight about three years ago. Now I'm sort of a fitness freak, so I want proof for all my hard work.

Anyway, about my outfit. I woke up an hour later than I should have for class today so I just threw some stuff on. This Nirvana sweatshirt is great for just that! It's a mens shirt so it's a bit baggy, but so comfortable. The shorts are Levi's that I found at a thrift store for something like eleven dollars. I love being able to find great pieces at thrift stores - it can be hard work to find something that I really like and that fits me. Boots are by Wanted that I bought at Shoe Carnival. The sunglasses, as well as the sweatshirt, were from Urban Outfitters.
